Last week we hosted Manuel Zarate, an evangelist who travels the world speaking in business settings, churches, and universities. His visit to our campus was intended first to share the gospel with students, equip leaders, address faculty,and speak to students in classrooms. As we look back at the events, we can say that thanks be [...] Next week the Baptist Student Ministry at the University of Texas Pan American will host Manuel Zarate for a series for events on campus and at the Baptist Student Center. Manuel has visited more than 20 countries in which he has had the opportunity to address people from all walks of life. College Students from [...] Last Friday the BSM hosted the annual Ladies Winter Tea 2009. This event is dedicated to thank all the ladies from churches around the valley that faithfully pray and support the BSM by encouraging their churches to give and serve lunch once a semester. The event began by having great students show up to bake, help, [...] Yesterday BSM UTPA students went to campus to reach students as they embraced Texas Hope 2010 during student involvement fair. We setup in the ballroom and handed out the New Testament to any student that wanted one. The response was great. Many students mentioned how much they needed to learn about God and were very [...] Today is the first day of the Spring Semester 0f 2008. Students are coming and going at the BSM and enthusiasm is felt in the air. It is exciting to think about they many ways God is going to use lives this semester to cultivate change in our campus. We had so much fun as we showed up to a beautifully decorated ballroom and enjoyed a night of fun, good food, and friends. The programs was very meaningful too. We heard testimonies of how God is working among us, prayed for two [...] Preparations are now underway at the BSM as we get ready to host the 2009 Winter Banquet “Noche de Gala.” The banquet will be held at the UTPA ballroom this Thursday at 7 PM. The BSM started Thanksgiving Festivities since last week. On Tuesday, we thanked God by serving people in countries that are in need (see previous post). On Thursday we hosted our BSM Free Lunch in Thanksgiving mode. All students that came enjoyed a delicious thanksgiving meal and shared what they are thankful for with [...] Yesterday BSM students hosted the 2008 “Open Your Eyes” Fair during International Week at UTPA. During this event world causes were promoted and money was raised to meet specific needs in different parts of the world. From water wells, literacy programs in Africa, First Aid Kids, local food bank and more… all BSM students hosted [...] |
